| 内容記述 | 研究成果の概要（和文）：19世紀前半に、蘭船が日本に持ち渡った私的貿易品といわれる脇荷物に焦点を絞り、その輸入実態を日蘭両側の貿易史料を照合・解明し、日蘭貿易における脇荷物の位置付けを試みた。今回は特に1840年代を中心に考察したが、当時の脇荷貿易は、1835年に始まったバタヴィア政庁が許した賃借人による取引であり、ガラス器や陶磁器といった食器類、さらに薬品類が非常に多く、本方荷物にはみられない多岐にわたる品々が存在していた。また、書籍類などは脇荷取引以外として賃借人によって持ち渡られ取引されていたが、これらの品々は、当時の蘭学興隆の面からみると日本文化史上、大変重要な意義を有していたといえる。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | 研究成果の概要（英文）：The real state of the imports of the so-called kambang goods, the private goods brought to Japan on Dutch ships in the first half of the 19th Century, has been counter-checked and clarified against the Dutch and Japanese historical trade materials, and an attempt was made to position these kambang goods within the overall Dutch-Japanese trade. This time, the research focused on the 1840s, when, starting in 1835, the trade in kambang goods was executed by a leaseholder (pachter) with the permission of the Batavian Government. These goods consisted mainly of tableware in glass, earthenware and porcelain, as well as a wide variety of medicines and other goods which did not feature in the regular Companies’trade. Books were also brought to Japan by the pachter, but traded outside the kambang trade transactions.These goods have been of enormous significance for the cultural history of Japan, especially during the heyday of Rangaku (Dutch Studies). | |||||
